Cl@ve avanzada and extras: activate Cl@ve Permanente and (optional) FNMT certificate
This is about upgrading your Cl@ve to the advanced level, activating Cl@ve Permanente/Cl@ve Firma and, if you need it, getting the FNMT digital certificate. Useful when the administration asks you to sign or enter official sites without fighting a thousand screens.

- 1.Go to https://clave.gob.es/clave_Home/area_privada.html to check if you're already registered and what level you have. If not, you'll need to register.
- 2.Book an appointment (cita previa) at a Cl@ve registration office. AEAT usually has slots: office list at https://clave.gob.es/clave_Home/registro/Oficinas-registro.html and AEAT appointments at https://sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es/Sede/cita-previa.html.
- 3.Go to the office at your appointment with your original DNI/NIE. They register you, link your mobile and email, and send the code by SMS to activate Cl@ve Permanente.
- 4.Activate Cl@ve Permanente and Cl@ve Firma from your private area: https://clave.gob.es/clave_Home/area_privada.html (set a password and validate the mobile).
- 5.If you prefer not to go in person, do the registration by video call at https://clave.gob.es/clave_Home/registro/Registro_con_videollamada.html following the guide (photos of your DNI/NIE, live verification and you're done).
- 6.Optional: if you need the FNMT certificate to sign files, request it at https://www.sede.fnmt.gob.es/certificados/persona-fisica/obtener-certificado-software, prove your identity (with DNIe or at an office) and download the certificate.
