- IBAN and, if it doesn’t match the applicant, a document proving titularity.
- Residencia/empadronamiento for foreigners.
Step by step
- Go to https://www.becaseducacion.gob.es and open the NEAE convocatoria for the curso.
- Log in with Cl@ve and create/recover your user if you don’t have one.
- Fill in the student, family data and centro (código). Tick the concepts you need.
- Attach reports and proofs in PDF. Don’t upload tilted photos: they’ll ask you to fix it.
- Check and sign with Cl@ve. Download the justificante de registro.
- Tell the centro to validate the application on their platform (without their validation you can be stuck in limbo).
- Watch the sede: if they ask for subsanación, you have 10 días. When the resolución comes out, if granted, provide justificación of expenses if requested.
Time-savers
- Ask for the informe del orientador in June/September. If you leave it to the last minute you’ll face queues and rush.
- Convert everything to PDF and group reports (medical, orientation, budgets) together.
- Note the código del centro: avoid silly search mistakes.
- If you’ll ask for reeducación, talk to the professional so the presupuesto includes full details (NIF, colegiado, sessions, price). It avoids requerimientos.
- Turn on alerts in the Carpeta Ciudadana so you don’t miss notifications.
Common mistakes that can ruin the process
- Submitting without electronic signature: it won’t count as registered.
- Orientation report out of date or generic: they’ll reject it.
- Uploading blurry photos instead of PDFs: guaranteed subsanación.
- Not telling the centro to validate: file frozen.
- Putting an IBAN where the account holder doesn’t match and not attaching proof: payment delays.
- Requesting reeducación without an accredited professional or without a presupuesto: that concept will be denied.

- 2.Log in with Cl@ve (PIN or Permanente) or with the Ministerio de Educación sede username/password.
- 3.Fill in the student and family details, enter the centre (put the centro code) and tick the concepts you need (transporte, comedor, reeducación, etc.).
- 4.Attach the centre’s orientation report in PDF and, if applicable, certificado de discapacidad or medical reports; add presupuesto/justificante if you request reeducación/logopedia.
- 5.Sign the application electronically with Cl@ve and submit. Download the justificante de registro (save it like gold).
- 6.Your centro educativo must validate the application on the platform. If they don’t, your file can be left hanging—give them the justificante if they ask.
- 7.Watch for notifications on the sede and your email: if they ask for subsanación, upload what’s missing within 10 días. After that, check the resolución and, if granted, justify expenses within the deadlines in the convocatoria.

- Informe del equipo de orientación (EOE/Departamento de Orientación) for the current school year stating the specific need

- Budget estimate or pro-forma invoice for reeducación pedagógica/logopedia (if you request that concept), with the colegiado professional’s details
- Libro de familia or document proving the family unit and, if applicable, título de familia numerosa/monoparental
- IBAN of the account of the beneficiary (titularity must be provable)
- For foreigners: NIE and certificado de registro/residencia and, if applicable, a recent empadronamiento
The window is short and once closed, that’s it
The NEAE convocatoria usually opens at the end of summer and closes in a few weeks. If you don’t sign and register in time, there’s no extension. The centre must validate: if they don’t do it on time, you can be left out.
Blurry documents = requirement to fix
Upload legible, current PDFs (from the course). Old reports or blurry photos end up in a subsanación request and eat your deadlines.
Reeducación only with accredited professional
For logopedia/reeducación they ask for a presupuesto or invoice from a colegiado professional or authorised centre. Without that, that concept will be rejected.

Is it compatible with the Ministerio’s general grant?
Yes, usually compatible because they cover different things. NEAE is for specific supports (reeducación, transport, etc.). Always check the convocatoria in case a specific concept can’t be combined.
Do they look at family income like the general grant?
There aren’t income thresholds per se; the key is proving the specific need. Still, they may request economic data for certain complements or prioritisation.
Can I apply if I’m in a concertado or private centre?
Yes. The important thing is you study non-university education in Spain and that the centre and the need are accredited. The centre must validate your application.
I don’t have a certificado de discapacidad, is a medical report enough?
For some needs (TDAH, TEA, learning disorders) they accept an updated clinical and psychopedagogical report. For other specific helps they may ask for recognised disability.
When do they pay the money?
After the resolución is final and, if required, after you submit the justificación. Usually paid between the end of the year and spring of the relevant curso. Be patient: payments go out in batches.
What if I change centre mid-course?
Notify on the sede and the new centre so they update and validate. If you don’t, you can lose the right to payment or the expediente may be blocked.
