Arraigo for training: apply for residence with EX-10 and a study commitment
If you have been in Spain continuously for 2 years and you enrol in recognised training or a Certificado de Profesionalidad, you can get a residence permit for circunstancias excepcionales. Here’s the step-by-step so you don’t lose it on silly rejections.

- 1.Go to https://mercurio.delegaciondelgobierno.gob.es/mercurio/modoAcceso.html and choose Arraigo/Residencia por circunstancias excepcionales (EX-10). Log in with Cl@ve or certificado digital.
- 2.Fill the application and attach PDFs: EX-10 signed, full passport, historical empadronamiento, apostilled and translated antecedentes penales, and your training commitment or pre-enrolment.
- 3.Generate and pay the Modelo 790-052 fee at https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/pagina/index/directorio/tasa052 (online payment with NRC or in a bank) and upload the receipt to Mercurio.
- 4.Send the application and keep the receipt with your expediente number. Check status at https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/infoext2/ using your NIE or expediente number.
- 5.If granted, within a maximum of 3 months upload the definitive matrícula and the training calendar/plan to Mercurio. If you don’t, they can extinguish the authorization.
- 6.With the matrícula uploaded, book a fingerprints appointment (Expedición de TIE) at https://icp.administracionelectronica.gob.es/icpplus/, pay the 790-012 fee at https://sede.policia.gob.es/Tasa790_012/ and go with photos, passport and the resolución.
