Step by step
- Go to https://sede.policia.gob.es/Tasa790_012/ and generate Modelo 790 código 012. Look for the epigraph “Certificado de concordancia” (if it doesn’t appear, try “Certificados/otros” depending on province). Pay online with Cl@ve/certificado or print it to pay at the bank.
- Book an appointment at https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpplus/. Select your province and the Policía procedure that includes “certificados” or “concordancia”.
- Go to the comisaría indicated with all originals and the fee receipt.
- At the counter they check the data and print the certificate on the spot.
- Check names and numbers. If everything matches, keep an extra copy.
- Use it to update: AEAT, Seguridad Social, DGT and your bank (saves you repeated trips).
Time-saving tips
- Pay Modelo 790 código 012 online and bring the PDF with the NRC. Avoid the bank.
- If you naturalise, try to do it the same day as your DNI appointment (ask at the office; sometimes it’s the same building, sometimes not).
- The appointment site https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpplus/ works better early in the morning and in Chrome. If you don’t see the procedure, try a different office within the same province.
- Ask for two copies of the certificate if they let you. Some banks keep one.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Going without Modelo 790 código 012 paid: they won’t charge it there. Back home.
- Choosing the wrong appointment (Extranjería office instead of Policía-Documentación, or the wrong epigraph).
- Not bringing the previous passport when you changed the number: verification gets messy.
- Typos on the certificate: check it on the spot; correcting it later is another chore.

- 3.Go to the indicated comisaría with both passports (new and old), your TIE/NIE, DNI if you already have it, and the proof of payment for Modelo 790 código 012.
- 4.At the desk they identify you and verify the data match (NIE ↔ DNI/passport). They print the certificate on the spot with stamp and signature.
- 5.Check that your data is correct and, if they allow it, ask for an extra copy. Then use it to update AEAT, Seguridad Social, DGT and your bank.

It can appear as “Certificado de concordancia”, “Certificados y asignación NIE” or something similar. If you pick the wrong one in ICP+, they will send you back home.
La tasa 790-012 no se paga en comisaría
Bring it paid. If you pay at the bank, not all branches accept tasa payments at the counter; paying online with Cl@ve/certificado saves you the trip.

Without this certificate, AEAT, Seguridad Social or DGT may not match your records. You’ll end up running around until you present it.

Yes, if you had a previous NIE. It makes AEAT, Seguridad Social, DGT and banks link your history to your new DNI. Without it they usually throw identity errors.
He cambiado de pasaporte extranjero, ¿también me toca?
Yes. The certificate states your NIE is the same even if the passport number changed. Take both the old and the new passport.

It doesn’t expire, but some organisations ask that it be “recent” (3 months) as their policy. If in doubt, request two copies when you go.
