If you have 5 years of legal residence in Spain and want to stop renewing every year, this procedure grants long-term residence. It’s for people who had temporary authorisations and meet the continuity rules without long absences.

- 1.Check you meet 5 years of continuous legal residence in Spain and that your absences do not exceed 10 months in total nor 6 months consecutively
- 2.Fill in Modelo EX-11 and pay tasa 790-052 (keep the receipt) via https://sede.policia.gob.es
- 3.Submit the application online at https://sede.inclusion.gob.es with Cl@ve or certificado digital, attaching EX-11, passport, TIE, empadronamiento and the tax receipt
- 4.If you prefer in person, book an appointment at https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpplus/ and present the documents on the appointment day
- 5.Wait for the resolution (watch for requerimientos; if they ask for something, upload it through the registro within the deadline)
- 6.With a favourable resolution, pay tasa 790-012, book a fingerprint appointment at https://sede.policia.gob.es and take EX-17, photo, passport, previous TIE and the resolution to get the new TIE
