Procedure 15: request additional supplement to your pension (INSS)

To get the INSS to recognise a supplement that increases your pension: the complemento a mínimos or the complemento para la reducción de la brecha de género. Useful if you earn little, or meet child-related requirements and need that extra.

- 1.Log into Tu Seguridad Social (sede.seg-social.gob.es) with Cl@ve, certificado digital or DNIe and open your pension under Pensiones.
- 2.Inside your expediente, use the option Solicitar complementos/Comunicar ingresos and fill the form (expected annual income, convivencia, residence and bank account).
- 3.Attach PDFs: empadronamiento colectivo, Renta/certificado de imputaciones, and, if relevant, libro de familia or birth certificates for the brecha de género claim.
- 4.Sign digitally and submit online. Download the justificante with número de registro so you can track the status in Tu Seguridad Social.
- 5.If you cannot do it online, book cita previa at the Sede de la Seguridad Social (INSS) and submit the application and copies at the CAISS that corresponds to you.
- 6.If the INSS asks you to correct something (subsanar), go back to the Sede and use Aportar documentación a una solicitud to upload the missing items within the deadline they give (normally 10 días hábiles).
- 7.Check the resolución in Tu Seguridad Social. If approved, the complemento is added to your pension and appears in the next payment.
