Add a beneficiary to your public health card (CCAA)
Procedure to get your partner, children or another family member covered by your comunidad's public healthcare and to issue them a tarjeta sanitaria. Use this if you already have entitlement and want to include family members.

- 1.Check or request recognition of the beneficiary's right to healthcare at Import@ss (INSS): go to https://importass.seg-social.es and use the Asistencia sanitaria service with Cl@ve/certificado.
- 2.Get a recent volante de empadronamiento for the beneficiary from your ayuntamiento's sede (e.g. Madrid https://sede.madrid.es, Barcelona https://seu-ajuntament.barcelona.cat).
- 3.Book an appointment or start the online request on your CCAA health portal: Madrid https://www.comunidad.madrid/servicios/salud/tarjeta-sanitaria, Catalunya https://catsalut.gencat.cat/ca/serveis/tsi/, Comunitat Valenciana https://www.gva.es/es/inicio/procedimientos?id_proc=18038.
- 4.Fill in the Alta de beneficiario form and attach the documents (DNI/NIE, padrón, libro de familia, resolución INSS, S1 if applies). Sign with Cl@ve or certificado digital.
- 5.If they ask to see originals, go to the appointment with all physical documents. Use the visit to confirm assigned médico de familia and health centre.
- 6.Check the status on the same sede or by phone with your CCAA. The physical tarjeta sanitaria is sent by post or you may download it from the app/Carpeta de Salud once it is active.
