Procedure 8: Additional Healthcare — alta de desplazado for healthcare in another CCAA

This is to get a doctor/nurse assigned in the region where you’re temporarily based without losing your home centre. Handy if you move for studies, work or care for a few weeks/months and need a temporary tarjeta sanitaria there.

- 1.Log in with Cl@ve or certificate on your Servicio de Salud portal and search “Desplazamiento temporal / Alta de desplazado”. If your CCAA doesn’t allow it online, go for a presencial appointment.
- 2.Book a cita previa at the health centre in the area where you’ll live via your Servicio de Salud website (reason: ‘Administración’ or ‘Trámites tarjeta sanitaria’).
- 3.Fill the desplazado application indicating start/end dates and temporary address. Attach DNI/NIE, your home TSI and the proof of stay (rental, studies, work).
- 4.If you go in person, bring originals and copies. Hand the application to administración at the centre; they’ll give you a receipt (resguardo).
- 5.Wait for the resolution: they assign you a local doctor/nurse. They’ll notify you by SMS/email and you’ll see it in your Carpeta/Portal de Salud of the CCAA.
- 6.If they issue a temporary physical card, pick it up at the centre or they’ll post it to you. If it’s virtual, it appears in the CCAA app within 24–72 h.
