- 1.Download and fill in Modelo EX-15 from extranjeros.inclusion.gob.es; sign it and tick the correct reason (economic, professional or social).
- 2.Generate and pay the fee Modelo 790 código 012 (concept: Asignación de NIE) at https://sede.policia.gob.es/Tasa790_012/ using Cl@ve or pay at your bank and keep the receipt.
- 3.Book an appointment at https://icp.administracionelectronica.gob.es/icpplustie/index.html selecting your province and the procedure “Asignación de NIE” or “Certificados y asignación de NIE”.
- 4.Attend the appointment with your passport, EX-15, proof of the reason and the paid fee; if a representative goes, bring the notarised power/apostille and their DNI/NIE.
- 5.If you are outside Spain, submit the EX-15 and supporting reason at your Spanish consulate/embassy (list at https://www.exteriores.gob.es/es/ServiciosAlCiudadano/Paginas/EmbajadasConsulados.aspx); they will forward the request to Spain.
- 6.Collect the certificate with your NIE on the spot or wait for the notification; if they send it, keep the number — it never changes.
