- 1.Check that the destination country is in the Hague Convention and that your document is a public document (if it’s private, get it notarised first).
- 2.If your document is notarial, go to the Colegio Notarial of your region (info at https://www.notariado.org/portal/apostilla). They apostille it there (usually a fee applies).
- 3.If it’s judicial, from the Registro Civil or administrative: find your Gerencia Territorial del Ministerio de Justicia or the Central Office and prepare the visit or the shipment (general info at https://www.mjusticia.gob.es).
- 4.In person: go with the original and your ID. Many Gerencias put the apostille on the spot. Check opening times on the Ministerio website.
- 5.By post: send the original, a copy of your ID, a letter with your details and destination country, and a return envelope. Better send by certified post to the appropriate Gerencia Territorial.
- 6.If your document is electronic with signature/CSV, check the electronic apostille option at the sede (https://sede.mjusticia.gob.es). They issue it digitally and it can be verified online.
