Electronic prescription in the public system (activate and use it)
If you want your doctor to put you on treatment and pick it up at the pharmacy with your health card, this is about activating and using the electronic prescription. It’s for patients in the public system (SNS), including chronic patients and people who travel between CCAA.

- 1.Enter your regional Health Service portal or app and book an appointment with your GP for “prescription/renewal of treatment” (e.g. Madrid: https://www.comunidad.madrid/servicios/salud/cita-atencion-primaria; Cataluña: https://lamevasalut.gencat.cat; Andalucía: https://www.sspa.juntadeandalucia.es/servicioandaluzdesalud/usuarios/citas).
- 2.Identify with Cl@ve/certificate and confirm the appointment (face-to-face or phone). If you can’t access online, they activate it at your health centre using your TSI and DNI.
- 3.At the consultation the doctor prescribes and activates your treatment on the electronic prescription. Ask them to print the Hoja de tratamiento activo (plan de medicación) in case the network fails or you travel between CCAA.
- 4.Go to the pharmacy with your Tarjeta Sanitaria (and DNI if requested). The pharmacist reads your TSI and dispenses according to the pick-up schedule shown on the prescription.
- 5.To see upcoming dispensations or duplicates, sign in with Cl@ve to your regional health folder and download your plan of medication (drug names, doses, pick-up dates).
- 6.If you are in another CCAA and it doesn’t appear, show the Hoja de tratamiento. If it still doesn’t show (expired/visado missing), book a new appointment for renewal or visado at your health centre.
