Partial retirement: how to apply to the INSS (with contrato de relevo)
Retroactive registration: 60 days. After that, contributions are not recognised.
It’s to cut your hours and start receiving part of your pension at the same time. It works if you’re in Régimen General, meet the age and contribution requirements, and your company agrees to the reduction and signs the contrato de relevo.

- 1.Agree the reduction of hours and the contrato de relevo with your company. Ask them for the Certificado de empresa para jubilación parcial and the precontract/contract of the relevista.
- 2.Log into Tu Seguridad Social with Cl@ve or certificado digital: https://sede.seg-social.gob.es/wps/portal/tuss. Use the retirement simulator to confirm you meet requirements and download your vida laboral if needed.
- 3.From Tu Seguridad Social open “Solicitar tu jubilación” and choose the modalidad de jubilación parcial. Fill in details, attach the Certificado de empresa para jubilación parcial, the precontrato/contrato de relevo and your IBAN. Submit and save the receipt.
- 4.The company must notify TGSS of the change in working hours (Sistema RED/Import@ss: https://importass.seg-social.es) and register the contrato de relevo in Contrat@ of the SEPE: https://contrata.sepe.gob.es/contratasepe.
- 5.Sign the addendum (adenda) for the reduction of working hours and start the new schedule on the agreed date. If the INSS asks for additional documents, upload them from Tu Seguridad Social (section “Mis gestiones”).
- 6.Track the file and download the resolución in Tu Seguridad Social. If it’s favourable, you’ll receive the partial pension from the start date of the reduction.
