This is not a DGT driving licence. It's a health & safety training certificate (certificado PRL) to operate forklifts. You need it if you'll be driving forklifts in warehouses, factories or construction sites and your employer requires it by law.

- 1.Talk to your employer: they should include you on a forklift course through their Servicio de Prevención (in-house or outsourced). If you go private, pick a training centre that does real practical sessions (avoid 100% online courses).
- 2.Book your spot and date. They’ll give you the syllabus and schedule. There’s usually a theory part (sometimes online) and a hands-on practice with the machine.
- 3.Complete the full training and pass the practical assessment. If you pass, the centre issues the certificado de carretillero (theory + practice, with date and types of forklift).
- 4.Ask your employer for the autorización interna in writing to operate forklifts on their premises, specifying models/areas where you can work.
- 5.Are you going to use the forklift on public roads (cross a street, use a quay, etc.)? Check DGT rules on special vehicles: https://www.dgt.es/muevete-con-seguridad/vehiculos/vehiculos-especiales/ and make sure you have permiso B, insurance, signage and whatever else applies.
