DGT vehicle report: reducido, completo, cargas or técnicos
Use this to see the real state of a car or bike at Tráfico: whether it has cargas, if it’s off the road (baja), technical data, etc. Ideal before buying a used vehicle or to check what a vehicle under your name looks like.

What you need to have
- Registration plate, NIVE or bastidor (VIN) of the vehicle.
- Cl@ve PIN, certificado digital or DNIe if you’re going to request paid reports or "a mi nombre".
- Card or bank account to pay tasa 4.1.
- An email if you want a copy by mail.
- Better use Chrome/Edge; the sede sometimes chokes on other browsers.

- Payment method for tasa 4.1 (importe anual en BOE, aprox. 8–9€).
- Tasa number / NRC if you bought it beforehand.
Step by step
- Go to the DGT: https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/vehiculos/informes-de-vehiculos/.
- If you only want something basic, click Informe reducido (free) and enter the registration plate. If you need serious data (cargas, técnico, completo), identify with Cl@ve or certificado.
- Choose the type: completo, cargas e incidencias, datos técnicos or vehículos a mi nombre (the last and the reducido are free).
- Enter matrícula/NIVE/VIN and confirm the vehicle is the correct one.
- Pay the tasa 4.1 with card/account or use your tasa/NRC number already bought (https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/tramites-y-multas/tasas/).
- Download the PDF. Check closely: embargos, reserva de dominio, temporary/permanent baja, ITV, mileage when recorded, fiscal address, etc.
- If you prefer mobile, do it in miDGT: Vehículos > Informes (https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/app-midgt/).
Time-saving tricks
- If you’re buying a car, request cargas e incidencias or completo. The reducido won’t save you from problems.
- If the car is very old or imported, use the VIN; sometimes NIVE/plate fails.
- Save the PDF and the payment receipt to your cloud. A gestor or insurer may ask for them.
- If the sede fails, try off-peak hours (early morning). Fewer virtual queues.
Common mistakes that mess up the process
- Trusting the informe reducido for a sale: it doesn’t show cargas.
- Typing the wrong registration plate (O/0, B/8) and paying the tasa: no refund.
- Buying the tasa separately and then not linking it to the request: you’ll have to repeat it.
- Expecting a history of workshops or accidents: the report doesn’t include that.
- Using an odd browser or ad blockers: the PDF download can fail.
- 1.Go to the DGT: sede.dgt.gob.es > Vehículos > Informes de vehículos (https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/vehiculos/informes-de-vehiculos/).
- 2.If you only want the reducido (free), choose "Informe reducido", enter the registration plate and pass the captcha. For the rest, identify with Cl@ve/certificado.
- 3.Select the type: completo, cargas e incidencias, datos técnicos or "vehículos a mi nombre" (the last one and the reducido are free).
- 4.Enter the registration plate, NIVE or VIN and confirm the vehicle is the correct one.
- 5.Pay tasa 4.1 if applicable with card/direct debit from the sede or enter the tasa/NRC number if you already bought it (https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/tramites-y-multas/tasas/).
- 6.Download the PDF immediately and check for incidencias: embargos, reserva de dominio, precintos, baja, ITV and recorded mileage.
- 7.Optional: you can also do it from the miDGT app (https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/app-midgt/) under Vehicles > Informes.
- Registration plate, NIVE or vehicle chassis number (VIN)
- Electronic ID (Cl@ve, certificado digital or DNIe) for paid reports or "a mi nombre"

El reducido no muestra cargas
The informe reducido is free but does NOT tell you about embargos or reserva de dominio. To buy a car, request the completo or the informe de cargas e incidencias.
Ojo con la tasa mal metida
If you enter the wrong registration plate or choose the wrong report type, tasa 4.1 is not refunded. Double-check before you pay.
Datos que tardan en aparecer
Newly transferred, imported or newly registered vehicles can take a few days to appear. If something is missing, try with the bastidor (VIN) and wait 24–48 h.
¿Qué necesito para completar Informe de Vehículo sin que me lo rechacen?
Informe de Vehículo es gratuito en DGT y se puede presentar por cuenta propia. El punto que interrumpe el trámite es que hace falta Cl@ve activa, y si no está dada de alta el registro previo puede tardar días. Además, hay que aportar 3 documentos a lo largo de 7 pasos, y la sede rechaza el envío completo si un solo dato no coincide con el que consta en el registro. Which one do I request to know if there are embargos or reserva de dominio?
The "informe de cargas e incidencias" or the "informe completo". The reducido won’t show that. Don’t rely on it for a purchase.
Is it free?
The informe reducido and the "vehículos a mi nombre" are free. The completo, the cargas report and the technical one carry tasa 4.1 (updated yearly, around 8–9€).
Can I request a report for a car that isn’t mine?
Yes. With the registration plate or the bastidor you can request it. Only the "a mi nombre" report requires you to identify and is about your own vehicles.
Do I need Cl@ve for the reducido?
No. The reducido is issued without identifying yourself: enter the plate and you’re done. For paid reports or "a mi nombre" you need Cl@ve, certificado or DNIe.
I paid for the tasa with the wrong plate, do they refund me?
No. The DGT does not refund tasa payments due to errors when requesting. Check the matrícula/VIN carefully before paying.
Is it useful for a private sale?
Yes, and it’s the sensible move. The informe completo or the cargas report will tell you about debts or a reserva de dominio that can tie the car up.
