- 1.Go to the FNMT portal: https://www.sede.fnmt.gob.es/certificados and choose “Certificado de Sello Electrónico”. Install the Configurador FNMT if the site asks.
- 2.Generate the request on that page using the entity's NIF and a contact email. Note the código de solicitud the site gives you.
- 3.Prove the representation: either upload the required mercantile documentation or go to an Oficina de Registro autorizada with the código de solicitud and your ID so they can validate it in person.
- 4.Wait for validation. If everything matches, you'll get an email to download. If something's missing they'll ask you to fix it.
- 5.Download and install the certificate from the same machine and user you used to make the request (otherwise you’ll get the “no existen claves” type errors).
- 6.Export to .p12/.pfx with a password and install it on the server or app that will apply the seal. Keep a secure backup and the password safe.
