Tell the SEPE you're leaving Spain (if you get unemployment or a subsidy)
SEPE rejects forms with a single mistake. We review your draft before submission.
If you receive a benefit or subsidy and leave Spain, you must tell the SEPE before you go. This lets them authorise up to 15 days, suspend payments for 16–90 days, or issue the U2 so you can export your unemployment to the UE/EEE/Switzerland.

- 1.Go to https://sede.sepe.gob.es/citaprevia and book an appointment at your prestaciones office for “Autorización de salida al extranjero” (book well in advance — appointments go fast).
- 2.If you have Cl@ve or a digital certificate, log in at https://sede.sepe.gob.es and look for “Pre-solicitud de prestación individual”; submit your travel notice there, stating dates and attaching proof.
- 3.On the appointment day (or after you send the pre-solicitud), bring DNI/NIE, DARDE and your tickets. Say whether it’s up to 15 days (authorisation), 16–90 days (suspension) or if you want to export the benefit (U2).
- 4.If exporting to UE/EEE/Switzerland, ask for the U2 before you leave. Once you arrive, register at the public employment service in the destination country within 7 calendar days with the U2 in hand.
- 5.Keep the resolution/authorisation. If they suspend you for 16–90 days, on return request reactivation at the same SEPE office (online with Cl@ve or by appointment) within 15 working days.
- 6.Check your DARDE: if your trip is up to 15 days, make sure it doesn't clash with a renewal date; if it does, ask them to adjust it or authorise you so you don't get sanctioned for not renewing.
