Extension of the unemployment subsidy (SEPE)
If you get a SEPE subsidy that runs in six-month blocks, this is how you extend it for another 6 months. It applies to family help, over-45 after exhausting ERTE/unemployment, returned emigrants, people released from prison and similar cases — as long as you still meet the requirements.

- 1.Check your semester end date (on the resolution or in the Sede del SEPE, under ‘Consulta de prestaciones’) and calculate the deadline: 15 días hábiles from the day after.
- 2.Make sure your job-seeker registration (DARDE) is stamped. If you need to renew the DARDE first, do it at your regional employment office.
- 3.Prepare legible PDFs or photos of the income proofs and, if needed, family responsibility documents (Libro de familia, padrón, convenio).
- 4.Go to https://sede.sepe.gob.es > Personas > Protección por desempleo > Prórroga del subsidio. Log in with Cl@ve, certificado digital or DNIe.
- 5.Select the subsidy to extend, fill in the income and family dependency declaration, attach the requested documents and tick the responsibility boxes.
- 6.Sign and submit. Download the receipt. If they ask for corrections (subsanar), go back to https://sede.sepe.gob.es > Personas > Aportar documentación a prestaciones and upload what’s missing. Then check the status in ‘Consulta de prestaciones’.
