Book a Cita Previa at Social Security (INSS/TGSS)

Retroactive registration: 60 days. After that, contributions are not recognised.

Use this to book a day and time at the INSS (CAISS) or TGSS. Useful if you need to process retirement, incapacity, IMV or affiliation/cotisation issues and want in-person or phone attention.

  1. 1.Go to Social Security Cita Previa: INSS (benefits) at https://sede.seg-social.gob.es/wps/portal/sede/sede/Inicio/AtencionCiudadano/CitaPrevia or TGSS (affiliation/cotisation) at https://importass.seg-social.es/citas
  2. 2.Choose whether to access with Cl@ve/certificado digital or without ID. With Cl@ve it auto-fills your data and tends to work smoother.
  3. 3.Select the exact reason (e.g. Jubilación, Incapacidad, Ingreso Mínimo Vital at INSS; or Alta/Baja, Vida laboral/datos, Change of address at TGSS).
  4. 4.Enter your postal code so it shows nearby offices and the available modality (presential or phone). Pick a date and time slot.
  5. 5.Confirm your contact details. You will get a locator by SMS/email. Save the proof (PDF or screenshot).
  6. 6.If there are no appointments, try other nearby offices by changing the postal code or use the Registro electrónico de la Seguridad Social to submit your request with Cl@ve/certificado: https://sede.seg-social.gob.es/wps/portal/sede/sede/Inicio/RegistroElectronico
  7. 7.On the day, arrive 10 minutes early with your DNI/NIE and all documents for the procedure. If it’s a phone appointment, have your phone on and the documents to hand.
