Apply for contributory retirement (pensión del INSS)
Retroactive registration: 60 days. After that, contributions are not recognised.
This is the procedure to get your contributory retirement pension recognised and paid if you have paid social security. It covers retiring at the legal age (or earlier, with a penalty) and getting monthly payments into your account.

- 1.Log into Tu Seguridad Social with Cl@ve or certificate: https://sede.seg-social.gob.es/wps/portal/sede/tuss
- 2.Check your vida laboral and contribution bases in Import@ss (in case there are gaps that reduce your pension): https://importass.seg-social.es/
- 3.If you go in person, book a cita previa at the INSS (Pensiones y otras prestaciones): https://sede.seg-social.gob.es/wps/portal/sede/cita-previa
- 4.In Tu Seguridad Social go to Pensiones > Solicitar jubilación, pick the effective date, state if you worked abroad and upload the documents (DNI, IBAN, children docs, etc.)
- 5.Sign the application with Cl@ve or certificate and save the registration receipt (PDF with entry number)
- 6.If you are self-employed and fully retire, process your baja en el RETA in Import@ss once you have the retirement date clear: https://importass.seg-social.es/
- 7.Watch for the INSS notification; when they grant the pension they will tell you the amount and payment date (12 monthly payments + 2 extra payments, except in special cases)
