Resum ràpid
A VPO is allocated by public lottery or by a points system depending on the region and development. Being enrolled in the applicant registry, applying on time and proving scoring circumstances (family dependants, vulnerability, enrolment seniority) are the keys to improving your odds.

Two ways to share out the homes
When a VPO development is published with more applications than homes, someone has to decide who gets each one. Administrations use two main methods:
Public lottery
A lottery before a notary is held among all valid applications. It is the most common method when demand far exceeds supply. Luck decides, but you only enter the draw if you applied correctly and on time.
Points system
Applicants are ranked by a score that values circumstances such as:
- Family dependants (children, dependent people in your care).
- Economic vulnerability.
- Time enrolled in the applicant registry.
- Long-standing registration in the municipality.
How to genuinely improve your odds
- Enrol as early as possible: in some systems seniority scores.
- Keep your data updated: income, address, household members.
- Prove everything that scores: do not assume the administration knows your situation.
- Do not miss any call: every development you skip is an opportunity you give away.
The factor you control: applying to all of them
You cannot control the lottery, but you can apply to every development. That is where most people fail, because they do not find out in time.
GovEasy Monitoring checks the housing portals and emails you as soon as a new VPO development opens in your city, so you are in every possible draw.
Preguntes freqüents
Are VPOs always allocated by lottery?
Not always. Depending on the region and development, allocation can be done by public lottery before a notary or by a points system that values circumstances such as family dependants, vulnerability or time enrolled in the registry.
How can I increase my chances of getting a VPO?
By keeping your enrolment up to date, applying to every development you qualify for, and proving every circumstance that scores in the system. And, above all, by not missing any call because you found out too late.
What happens if I am allocated one but decline?
If you turn down an allocated home without justified cause, some regions penalise you with a temporary loss of your position in the registry. It is worth reading each development's rules before applying.
