- 1.Get the expediente matrimonial approved at the Registro Civil or before a notary (without this the Ayuntamiento won't marry you). You can request birth certificates at https://sede.mjusticia.gob.es/es/tramites/certificado-nacimiento
- 2.Log in with Cl@ve or certificado digital to the sede electrónica of your ayuntamiento and search for “Solicitud de celebración de matrimonio civil”
- 3.Fill in the form: propose dates, choose a room (salón de plenos, junta de distrito, etc.) and upload the autorización del Registro Civil and the DNIs
- 4.If the room has a fee, pay on the website (payment gateway) or generate a payment letter and upload the receipt
- 5.Receive confirmation of date and time by registro/correo. Keep the receipt: it will say where to show up and if there are extra requirements
- 6.Wedding day: both of you attend with two witnesses and their DNIs. You sign the act; the Ayuntamiento sends the expediente to the Registro Civil for registration
- 7.Once registered, request the certificado literal de matrimonio at the Ministerio de Justicia sede if you need it (https://sede.mjusticia.gob.es)
