- 1.Install the Configurador FNMT from https://www.sede.fnmt.gob.es/descargas/descargar-software (without this the site often fails).
- 2.Go to https://www.sede.fnmt.gob.es/certificados/persona-fisica/renovar and click “Renovar certificado”.
- 3.Identify yourself with your current certificate when the browser asks (certificate selector).
- 4.Fill in NIF/NIE and email, accept the terms and submit the request. If you get a code by email, save it.
- 5.Download and install the new certificate on the same machine and browser where you made the request (it takes seconds).
- 6.Make a backup of the new certificate (export to .p12/.pfx with a password) and import it into other browsers if needed.
