Step by step
- Go to https://sede.imserso.gob.es, find “Programa de Termalismo” and click Solicitar.
- Identify with Cl@ve or certificado digital.
- Fill in details, add a companion if needed, mark balnearios/turn preferences and needs (diets, mobility, habitación adaptada).
- Attach documents as PDF. Avoid huge files and filenames with accented characters or spaces.
- Tick consent for email/SMS, check everything and register. Save the justificante.
- Watch the Sede and your email for the adjudication. If you’re offered a place, accept it within the deadline.
- Call the balneario, confirm dates and terms, and pay the deposit/amount they ask according to your turn.
- If there’s no place, sign up for vacantes and check notifications: cancellations move places around.
Time-savers and tricks
- Use Chrome or Firefox; other browsers sometimes misbehave with the Sede.
- Scan to PDF at low quality; better one PDF per document block (ID, health, income).
- Have an alternate list of balnearios: your first choice can run out.
- Tick email/SMS communications. Otherwise you’ll find out late.
- Call the balneario as soon as you accept: locking dates early reduces problems with rooms.
Common mistakes that will mess you up
- Uploading files that are too heavy or with odd filenames: the Sede may reject them silently.
- Sending after the preferred deadline: you go to the waiting list and it’s harder to get in.
- Not accepting the place on time: you lose it and it goes to vacantes.
- Not requesting an adapted room if you need one: later you may be left without options.
- Going to INSS thinking they’ll process it: this is handled by Imserso and done online.
- 1.Go to https://sede.imserso.gob.es and look for “Programa de Termalismo”; click “Solicitar” and identify with Cl@ve or certificado digital.
- 2.Fill the online form with your details, the companion’s details (if any), your balneario/turn preferences and special needs (diets, mobility, adapted room).
- 3.Attach PDFs: DNI/NIE, resolución de pensión, medical report and the rest of the supporting docs (income, empadronamiento, discapacidad).
- 4.Tick consent for email/SMS communications, review the summary and submit the application. Download the receipt with your registration number.
- 5.When they publish adjudications, go back to the Sede to see if you got a place and accept it within the stated deadline.
- 6.Contact the assigned balneario to confirm dates, terms and pay the deposit or amount requested according to your turn.
- 7.If you aren’t assigned a place, register for vacantes/bolsa from the Sede and watch notifications: places open up from cancellations.

- Proof of income for the last fiscal year (IRPF or certificado de pensiones), for the scoring
- Volante or certificado de empadronamiento if the address on the DNI is not up to date
- Certificado de discapacidad o dependencia, if it applies
- List of preferred balnearios and dates/turns you’re interested in
Watch the deadlines
There are specific application windows each season (preferred phase, then vacantes). Outside the window you go on the waiting list. If you don’t accept a place on time, you lose it.
This is not done at INSS offices
This procedure is handled by Imserso and done online on their Sede. Don’t go to a CAISS expecting them to process it.
Attachments that fail
The Sede often rejects heavy files or files with strange names. Upload black-and-white PDFs, reasonable size, and avoid tildes/spaces in the filename.
Renunciations
If you renounce without justified cause, you can lose priority that season. Be sure before you accept.
Price of the stay
The application is free, but the stay at the balneario has a subsidised price set by Imserso each season.

Can I apply if I’m not a pensioner?
The main applicant must be a pensioner under the cases admitted in the convocatoria. The companion can be non-pensioner, but will go under the conditions set by the programme.
How much does a balneario cost with Imserso?
It depends on the balneario, duration and season. Prices are subsidised and published each year in the convocatoria and on the Sede.
Can I choose balneario and dates?
Yes, you mark preferences. Allocation depends on the baremo and availability; if you don’t get your first pick, they may assign another from your list.
What do they score to give a place?
They usually count age, type of pension, income, health situation and availability by province/centre. All details are in the bases of the convocatoria.
What if I don’t accept the place in time?
You lose it and it goes to vacantes. Watch your email/SMS and your expediente on the Sede.
Can my partner or a family member go with me?
Yes, you can include a companion. If they’re not a pensioner, the price for them follows what the convocatoria states.
Are there adapted rooms?
Yes, but they’re limited. Ask for one on the application and remind the balneario when you confirm the place.
Can I apply if my DNI address isn’t updated?
Yes, but bring a certificado de empadronamiento or volante to prove current address for the baremo.
