- 1.Go to your town hall’s sede electrónica and search for “Tasa de basuras/Residuos urbanos” (examples: https://sede.madrid.es, https://ajuntament.barcelona.cat/seu-electronica, https://sede.valencia.es). Identify with Cl@ve, certificado digital or DNIe.
- 2.Choose the exact procedure: Alta, Cambio de titularidad, Baja or Domiciliación. Fill in full address and referencia catastral, state whether it’s vivienda or actividad and give the effective date.
- 3.Attach PDFs: DNI/NIE, escritura or contrato, IBI receipt, licencia/IAE if it’s a local. If asking for a discount, upload the supporting documents. Make sure PDFs are under the size limit of the sede.
- 4.If the system generates an autoliquidación (registration fee), download the carta de pago and pay via the municipal payment gateway with card or in a collaborating bank; if there’s no autoliquidación, tick ‘Domiciliar’ and enter the IBAN (some ayuntamientos also require a signed orden SEPA).
- 5.Submit the application and save the registro justificante. If you do it in person, book cita previa at the municipal tax office, bring originals and copies, and the signed orden SEPA.
- 6.Check your expediente in “Mis trámites/Mis expedientes” on the sede. Inclusion in the padrón for the fee usually takes 1–4 weeks; the receipt will arrive in the annual voluntary collection period or will be charged if you have direct debit set up.
