Use this when your sociedad will start a new activity: first, if needed, you amend the objeto social at the Registro Mercantil; then you add the IAE epigraph and tax obligations on the Modelo 036 at the AEAT. Handy when you’re going to sell/provide something different to what you registered at the start.

- 1.Check the current objeto social in the latest registered escritura. If the new activity doesn’t fit, book a notary appointment for a statutes amendment (shareholders’ resolution) and sign the escritura.
- 2.File the escritura at your provincial Registro Mercantil (in person or telematically at sede.registradores.org). Pay aranceles and wait for inscripción. Keep the asiento de presentación.
- 3.Once the amendment is inscrito, download the nota simple/inscripción and keep copies for what’s requested. If no statutes change was needed, skip to the AEAT step.
- 4.Log in to sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es with Cl@ve or certificado and file the Modelo 036 (modificación censal): add the IAE epigraph(s), mark obligations (IVA/IS/retenciones) and set the start date.
- 5.If your cifra de negocios removes you from the IAE exemption or the activity isn’t exempt: process the alta en IAE (Modelo 840) within the deadline and, if applicable, submit the 848 for cifra de negocios.
- 6.Download and keep all receipts (registration of the 036 and, if applies, 840/848). Update books and invoicing (CNAE/epígrafe on invoices) and check if you need a licencia municipal or an environmental communication.
