Add an extra dwelling in Catastro (new unit inside a property)
Energy certificates expire. Without a valid one, the contract may be voided.
If you've split a flat or created an extra dwelling in your home, you must declare it to the Catastro so it gets its own referencia catastral and correct data. This is for owners who have carried out works/division and want to regularise it online using Cl@ve.

- 1.Go to https://www.sedecatastro.gob.es and log in with Cl@ve, certificado digital or DNIe.
- 2.From the Sede, open “Declaraciones de alteraciones catastrales (inmuebles urbanos)” and choose the type: new dwelling by segregation/creation within a property.
- 3.Search the property by referencia catastral, specify the new unit (residential use, surface area, floor, door) and explain the alteration in the observations field.
- 4.Attach PDFs: the municipal licence, the certificado final de obra, the escritura/nota simple and the plans with surfaces. If there is división horizontal, attach the full escritura.
- 5.Check the summary, sign electronically and submit. Download the justificante with CSV and expediente number.
- 6.Watch “Mis Expedientes” on the Sede del Catastro and your notifications at https://carpetaciudadana.gob.es. If they request anything, upload it within the deadline.
- 7.You receive the resolución with the new referencia catastral for the dwelling. Download the certificación catastral and check that the IBI is assigned correctly.
