Register an additional dwelling in Catastro for your property
Energy certificates expire. Without a valid one, the contract may be voided.
If you split your flat into two or created another dwelling in the building, this is how you declare the new unit so it gets its own referencia catastral and value. The owner (or their representative) files it so IBI and Catastro data match up.

- 1.Go to the Sede Electrónica del Catastro (https://www.sedecatastro.gob.es) and log in with Cl@ve.
- 2.Go to Trámites > Declaraciones and choose the declaration for alterations of urban properties (Modelo 900D).
- 3.Fill in the 900D: owner, referencia catastral, type of alteration (alta de nueva vivienda por división/segregación), use, superficies and year of the works.
- 4.Attach PDFs: the licencia or comunicación previa, the certificado final de obra, the escritura (if there's división horizontal) and the planos acotados. If you have GML, upload it too.
- 5.Submit the declaration and download the justificante de registro. Keep the expediente number to check the status.
- 6.If online fails or you don't have Cl@ve, book an appointment at the Gerencia/Subgerencia del Catastro from the same Sede and file the Modelo 900D on paper with all documents.
