- 1.Clarify what you’re doing: if you only add an activity or open another premises, it’s AEAT (Modelo 036). If you open a sucursal with autonomy or change objeto social, you also need Registro Mercantil.
- 2.Go to the AEAT: sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es > Empresas y profesionales > Censos, NIF y domicilio fiscal > Modelos 036/037 and submit a MODIFICACIÓN adding the IAE epígrafe and the new premises (section “Lugares de realización de la actividad”).
- 3.If last year’s turnover exceeds 1.000.000 €, file the IAE at sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es > Tributos > IAE (Modelos 840/848) and register the corresponding epígrafe.
- 4.If the objeto social doesn’t cover the new activity, book a notary appointment, sign the escritura de modificación de estatutos and submit Modelo 600 (usually exempt) in your CCAA before going to the Registro.
- 5.If you open a sucursal (for real, not just a premises): execute the escritura of opening and appointment of a representative, and submit electronically to the Registro Mercantil of the province where the sucursal is domiciled at sede.registradores.org/site/mercantil. Pay aranceles and BORME fees.
- 6.Keep the receipts: acuse de recibo of the 036, IAE alta if applicable and, if registered, the inscripción and BORME publication. Update your invoices with the new premises address if needed.
