Telematic legalisation of books at the Registro Mercantil
You need to legalise the mandatory books (diary, inventories and annual accounts, minutes, shareholders/registered shares) for the financial year at the Registro Mercantil. It's for companies and traders keeping commercial accounting. It's done online and there's a hard 4-month deadline from the close date.

- 1.Prepare each book in PDF/A (no passwords) by financial year: Diario, Inventarios y Cuentas Anuales, Actas, Socios/Acciones if applicable.
- 2.Electronically sign the books or generate the case file with its digital fingerprint (zip of the expediente) using the Colegio de Registradores tool (Legalia) for telematics.
- 3.Go to https://sede.registradores.org and access Registro Mercantil > Legalización de libros; identify yourself with certificado or Cl@ve Firma.
- 4.Select the provincial Registro Mercantil of the registered office, state the financial year and closing date, and attach the .zip of the expediente (or the books if the system accepts them).
- 5.Check the book details, confirm the submission and pay the arancel by TPV (card) or generate the carta de pago if the Registro offers that.
- 6.Save the presentation receipt with CSV/date and the entry number; you can check the status in your private area.
- 7.When the registrador issues the qualification, download the diligencia of legalisation for each book (signed PDF) from your expediente; file it with the books.
